Adjective clause/relative clause merupakan kelompok kata yang memiliki subjeck dan prediket yang berfungsi sebagai kata sifat, yaitu menerangkan noun (kata benda)

Adjective clause terdiri dari :

ü  Who, untuk menggantikan orang sebagai subjeck

ü  Whom, untuk mengganti orang sebagai objek

ü  Which, untuk mengganti benda sebagai subjeck/objek

ü  Where, untuk mengganti tempat sebagai subjeck/objeck

ü  That, untuk mengganti orang/benda sebagai pemilik

A.   Menggunakan “who” / “that” untuk mengganti subjek pronoun untuk orang.

1.     The guest are waiting outside want to see you

Ø  The guest who are waiting you outside want to see you

Ø  The guest that are waiting you outside want to see you

B.    Menggunakan “Which” / “that” untuk menggantikan subjeck pronoun untuk benda

1.     The rabbit is under the tree.

Ø  The rabbit which is under the tree

Ø  The rabbit that is under the tree

C.    Menggunakan “whom” / “that” untuk menggantikan objek pronoun untuk orang.

1.     The man you helped last night, works near my school

Ø  The man whom last night, works near my school

Ø  The man that last night, works near my school

D.   Menggunakan “which” / “that” untuk menggantikan subjek pronoun untuk benda.

1.     She is reading the magazine, I bought yesterday

Ø  She is reading the magazine which I bought yesterday

Ø  She is reading the magazine that I bought yesterday

E.    Menggunakan “where” / “which” / “that” untuk mengganti tempat

1.     The house anita lives is very big

Ø  The house where anita lives is very big

Ø  The house in which anita lives is very big

Ø  The house which anita lives is very big

Ø  The house that anita lives is very big
